1. Safety is the engine to our performance and you hold the key
Rig safety has come a long way over the last 30 years. Just ask John Meckert, Trinidad’s Vice President of HSE and QMS, whose years of experience in the industry have given him another level of respect for helping rig hands get home safely.
A professional engineer by trade, Meckert’s interest in safety began at the start of his career while working for Conoco, who at the time was owned by the industrial safety leader and STOP program founder, DuPont.

Rig Manager Wayne Adam’s career progression at Trinidad has been no different. Adam’s journey to his current gig on Rig 127 in Saudi Arabia began on Rig 106, when we expanded south of the 49th parallel in 2005. After 20 years in the business, we understand each drilling program has its unique challenges. That’s why we’ve designed and upgraded our rigs with features like back-up secondary systems, centralized control systems, moving systems and safety enhancements to drill deeper, longer and more technically challenging wells.
Rig 56, Trinidad’s first 2000 HP rig added to our fleet in 2011, is no exception. Designed with both natural gas and diesel-powered engines, we’re able to adapt the rig’s power source to fit our customer’s drilling programs. Continue reading
Rig 123, not only an impressive 1500 HP Triple, but also our longest no recordable incidents record holder in the US at seven years (and counting).
Although Ulcak has thoroughly enjoyed every teal green rig he’s worked on in his 11 years with us, he’ll be the first to admit there’s something special about the culture and crews on Rig 123.
