Trinidad’s mammoth 700 series are rigs everyone wants on their resume (and for good reason). When they were drilling in Villahermosa under our joint venture with Halliburton, these Mexican giants were doing more than catching the eyes of passersby.
After 20 years in the business, we understand each drilling program has its unique challenges. That’s why we’ve designed and upgraded our rigs with features like back-up secondary systems, centralized control systems, moving systems and safety enhancements to drill deeper, longer and more technically challenging wells.
Rig 56, Trinidad’s first 2000 HP rig added to our fleet in 2011, is no exception. Designed with both natural gas and diesel-powered engines, we’re able to adapt the rig’s power source to fit our customer’s drilling programs. Continue reading
Rig 123, not only an impressive 1500 HP Triple, but also our longest no recordable incidents record holder in the US at seven years (and counting).
Although Ulcak has thoroughly enjoyed every teal green rig he’s worked on in his 11 years with us, he’ll be the first to admit there’s something special about the culture and crews on Rig 123.
“… I look forward to coming to work each hitch. When a man looks forward to going to work, it’s ‘cause he knows it’s a safe and enjoyable place to be.”
When we asked Ulcak about Rig 123’s seven year safety success, it was obvious from the input he received from the crew that they too would describe the rig’s culture as something out of the ordinary.
Read on as Ulcak shares five of the crews’ tried and true tips on keeping everyone safe over the past seven years. Continue reading
This is the final post in our three part safety ideas series.
Safe working tips and tricks should not be kept a secret, company to company, team to team or rig to rig. Trinidad rigs reach amazing safety milestones
Over the following years, Trinidad developed safety processes and a safety culture that is admired across the industry. Among those processes are T.E.S.T. This week on the blog, a peek at one of our Saudi operations, Rig 126, located in the South Ghawar Field in Saudi Arabia.
When Trinidad acquired CanElson in August 2015, one of the big benefits was welcoming CanElson president and CEO, Randy Hawkings, to our team.
He’s our new Executive Vice-President, Canadian and Mexico Operations, and he brings lots of experience with him — in engineering, management, and many other areas of the drilling business.
He’s a lot of fun to talk to, and has lots of cool perspectives on the industry. Read on to learn about Hawkings’ philosophy on drilling, his history and why he’s so passionate about the drilling industry.
