That mindset has been a defining one for Chad Britt throughout his career. Born into a long line of roughnecks, the Louisiana native is one of the Rig Managers on Rig 134, a trophy-clad triple in our U.S. fleet with a track record of accomplishment.
“I’ve always taught my crews to strive for their very best,” said Chad.
“Rig 134 isn’t gunning for awards, we just want to be a benefit to Trinidad and do our jobs to the highest standard.”

Trinidad Drilling is marking its 20th anniversary in 2016. In honour of this milestone, we’ve put together this graphic looking at a few key years in our evolution as a company (check out our logo variations!) – and a peek at what was happening in the world at large during that time.
One of Trinidad’s exploration and production customers in the United States holds its own Drilling Academy Awards every month. Much like Oscar himself, the award is golden for the winning drilling company.
Maybe that’s why they call it the Golden Drilling Rig Award.
In September 2015, when the envelope was torn open, it revealed the winner as Trinidad Rig 445, operating near Midland, Texas, in the Permian Basin.
Everyone knows that 2015 was a challenging year in the oilpatch.
Yet at Trinidad Drilling, we took on those challenges and continued moving forward with exciting new rig technology, our joint ventures in new locations, and an important acquisition that made us bigger and stronger.
